Network Member of the Month is Raspberry Creative Type which offers cover design and typesetting services. 

Jemma Neville, author of Constitution Street (404 Ink) won The City Award at the Creative Edinburgh Awards 2019.

Canongate's Publicity Director Anna Frame who was awarded The Sophie Christopher Publicist of the Year Award at this year's Booksellers Association (BA) Conference. See  The Bookseller of 9 September 2019.

Edinburgh University Press has acquired the publishing assets of Edinburgh law publisher  Avizandum Publishing. See the EUP website.

Itchy Coo / Black & White Publishing won Scots Business o the Year at the Scots Language Awards.

Imogen Stirling (Project Officer at 404 Ink, Poet, Theatre-Maker and Musician) was shortlisted for Creative Edinburgh's Independent Award 2019.



Cut & Paste: 400 Years of Collage   by Patrick Elliott, Freya Gowrley and Yuval Etgar (NGS Publishing) was shortlisted for The Commercial Award at the Creative Edinburgh Awards 2019.

Diary o a Wimpy Wean by Jeff Kinney, tr by Thomas Clark (Itchy Coo/Black & White Publishing) won Scots Bairn's Book o the Year at the Scots Language Awards.

The film based on Animals by Emma Jane Unsworth (Canongate Books) is shortlisted for Best International Literary Adaptation at the Frankfurt Book Fair Film Awards 2019. 

Armistice Runner by Tom Palmer and Run Wild by Gill Lewis (both Barrington Stoke) have been nominated for the Fantastic Book Awards 2019/20.

Hard Down! Hard Down! by Captain Jack Isbester and Engineering Hitler's Downfall by Gwilym Roberts (both Whittles) and Salt on Your Tongue by Charlotte Runcie (Canongate) are nominated for the Mountbatten Maritime Award for the Best Book 2019.

2020 by Kenneth Steven (Saraband) features on the Portico Prize 2019 longlist.

Celestial Bodies by Jokha Alharthi (Sandstone Press) is the Hay Festival's Book of the Month October 2019.

The Easternmost House by Juliet Blaxland (Sandstone Press) has been shortlisted for Best Biography/Memoir at the East Anglian Book Awards 2019.

Evie in the Jungle by Matt Haig (Canongate) is among the World Book Day titles for 2020.

The People's Act of Love by James Meek and Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig appear in The Guardian's Readers Picks of Best Books of this Century.

Voting for the Edinburgh International Book Festival First Book Award 2019 is open until midnight on Monday 14 October 2019. Members books include: The Wind That lays Waste by Selva Almada (Charco Press), My Name is Monster by Katie Hale (Canongate), A Superior Spectre by Angela Meyer (Saraband), Animals Eat Each Other by Elle Nash (404 Ink) and Dune Song by Anissa M Bouziane (Sandstone Press).

The Flame by Leonard Cohen (Canongate) is one of the shortlisted poetry books up for a BAMB Readers Award. Public voting is open until 23:59 on 3 November 2019 and all voters have the chance to win one of five £100 National Book Tokens.
