Voting open for the Not the Booker Prize 2019 shortlist
31 July 2019
The Guardian's Not the Booker Prize aims to
find this year's best novels especially those that might otherwise
have gone unnoticed. A serious discussion about literature and
prize culture, it's also about fun.
In a change from previous years, the six books on the shortlist
will be chosen as follows:
- three books by the public vote
- one book by the 2018 judging panel
- one book by Chester's award-winning Storyhouse library
- one book by the 2019 independent bookseller of the year,
Edinburgh's Golden Hare Books.
Voting is now open to decide the books selected by public vote.
Books published in Scotland and/or by Scottish writers are well
represented on the very long list of nominations. Vote by 23.59 BST
on Monday 5 August 2019.
For full details of how to nominate, see Sam Jordison in The Guardian of 29 July 2019.
