    You can research publishers and submit your book for consideration or you can publish it on your own (see Getting Published).

  • I've self-published a book - how do I get it distributed?

    For small publishers and self-publishers especially with just one book, doing it yourself is sometimes the only option. Read more about distribution.

    Renowned Scottish author and artist Alasdair Gray died on 29 December 2019 at the age of 85.

    Scottish author Marion Chesney Gibbons, known professionally as M.C. Beaton, died on 1 January 2019. She wrote the international bestselling Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth series, as well as numerous regency romances.
  • British Book Awards open for entries

    16 December 2019
    The British Book Awards (The Nibbies) 2020 are open for entries until 7 February 2020. The award categories for publishers include: Academic, Educational & Professional Publisher of the Year; Children's Publisher of the Year; Independent Publisher of the Year; Marketing Strategy of the Year; Publicity Campaign of the Year; Small Press of the Year; Editor of the Year; and Rights Professional of the Year.
  • Event on creating disabled and low-income access to publishing

    Breaking the Mould is an event at Paisley's new book festival. The event will feature a discussion on creating disabled and low-income access to publishing and takes place on 22 February 2020.
